Pavilion Theatre

In a bold move, the powers that be at the Pavilion have thrown out the panto rule book this year, moving away from traditional tales to a Christmas- inspired show.

Starring local talent, River City stars Leah MacRae and Gary Lamont, the family-friendly show also boasts a line-up including panto legend Dean Park and the brilliant Johnny Mac as Elfie the Selfie.

The tale itself is quirky, following an unlikely band of heroes in their quest to find their fairy friend captured by evil panto baddies, Hank and Marvin.

Castlemilk’s finest, Gary Lamont is amazing as the dame, Nanny Nae Nonsense, a vision in glitter make-up and outrageous costumes.

Fellow River City star Leah MacRae skilfully takes on the role of baddie Hank, striking the perfect balance of boos and laughs for audience.

Our four- year- old daughter, Sarah, was captivated by the whole show. The glitter, the lights, the songs...what more could a girl ask for?

Choc-a-block full of slapstick and nonsense, stand- out moments include the hilarious bed scene and a laugh-out-loud Glasgow version of the 12 Days of Christmas which included five lavvy rolls, two fitba tops and a bra that was made to fit three (yes, really).

All in all, the Pavilion’s panto is as family-friendly and festivefilled as they get.

Bah Humbugs beware, you’ll step into Christmas at this show and will be wowed by a winter wonderland. Four stars Runs until January 17

Let It Snow! The cast at the Pavilion enjoy a winter wonderland
