Pet charity appeals for unwanted items
The Rutherglen charity shop branch of leading vet charity, PDSA, is urgently appealing for animal lovers to donate their unwanted items or time to help sick and injured pets.
The shop, at 50 Main Street, is desperate for good quality donations including CDs, DVDs, books and toys, as well as men’s and ladies’ clothes, shoes and accessories.
A spokesperson said: “As a charity, we rely solely on the generosity of our supporters to donate quality stock for us to sell, to help us raise vital funds for sick and injured pets locally and across the UK.
“So if your attic is straining with old books, toys and clothes, why not have a clear out and let us take some of your unwanted items off your hands?”
The Rutherglen shop is also looking for volunteers to offer their time to help look after the day-to-day running of the store.
The spokesperson added: “We need enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about pets and who can lend a hand at Rutherglen PDSA shop.
“No previous retail experience is required to come and work with us and for many of our volunteers, they find the experience that they pick up with us enhances their CV and builds confidence. Volunteering with us also gives people a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.”
