A woman who has lost three stones since May is relaunching a Slimming World group in Rutherglen.

Jackie McGregor is a full-time carer for her nine-year-old son and can’t believe how much her life has changed since losing weight.

She has more energy and finds playing with her child much more fun.

She said: “I can keep up with him now.

“The health benefits have been amazing too, I’m no longer on blood pressure medication now and my body mass index is coming down nicely.”

Jackie is a regular gym user and says: “I have so much more confidence walking through those gym doors now.

“In May, I used to find the quietest corner to work out, now I’m showing off my new trim body.

With her son needing special attention, Jackie didn’t feel she had the time to look after herself.

Takeaway food became the norm leading to more weight creeping on.

Back in May, she was a size 22 and 16 stone, but now she’s a trim size 14 and weighs 13 stone.

She adds: “I’m still able to indulge in all my favourite meals like spag bol, curries, chow mein, cheeseburgers, chips and chocolate and crisps.

“They are just all made a healthier way, following recipes from one of the books ‘fakeaway’.

“The first time I went to a group I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but I had no need to.

“I was warmly welcomed by the consultant who understood exactly how I would be feeling, the buzz of the group and friendiness of members made me know I’d absolutely done the right thing.

“I felt so motivated and inspired that I wanted others in my position to feel the same.”

Her new group will start on December 13 at The Braes, 161 East Kilbride Road, on Wednesdays at 5.30pm and 7.30pm

Jackie adds: “Come and make 2016 the year to a slimmer, healthier you.”
