Queen’s Park manager Gus MacPherson was pleased his side grabbed a point against Elgin City on Saturday.

The Spiders drew 0-0 at Borough Briggs in a game that provided very few chances.

And MacPherson hopes his team can carry their good form into their Boxing Day clash with Berwick Rangers at Hampden Park.

The Spiders are now unbeaten in five league games and MacPherson said:“I’m very pleased with a point.

“It certainly is a case of a point gained rather than two points dropped, especially against a team who have a fantastic record at home.

“Scott Gibson picked up a knock against Arbroath last week so it was a chance for Bryan Wharton to stake a claim. The defence did well and kept a clean sheet.

“The players know they will all play their part this season, they understand that.”

MacPherson added: “Berwick had a good result against Stirling last week. They’re under new management, scored four and kept a clean sheet.

“We’ll try to make home advantage count and hopefully create chances and take them when we can.”
