Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

The new £ 5.7million woodland park at Cuningar Loop in Rutherglen will reopen at the weekends from January 9 ahead of the official opening in the spring.

The public will be able to enjoy the attractions from 10am until 4pm each weekend.

The activity zone features a bike skills park, bouldering park, adventure play and woodland workout area.

Project manager Joneen Clarke said: “We’re delighted to be able to open at the weekends and encourage people to keep on visiting the park.

“Our come and try events were so popular we’ve had people come back time and time again which is fantastic.”

The facility has already proved a massive hit with locals. Hundreds have made the trip to see the site, which can be accessed from Downiebrae Road. It is one of the legacy programmes from the Commonwealth Games.
