At Weight Watchers we have a fantastic new plan called ‘smart points’.
I have recently lost one stone on smart points and my husband Marco has lost 19lbs.
The plan has made me more aware of what I’m eating and it has changed the way that I look at food for the better. We both eat a lot of food and really enjoy what we are eating.
I’ve never felt healthier and have so much more energy these days.
Smart Points takes in to account all the latest scientific findings that show that the amount of sugar that is added to everyday foods nowadays is a real cause for concern to our health and wellbeing.
Most people are totally unaware of the amount of hidden sugars that they are consuming, for example some seemingly healthy yoghurts have up to five teaspoons of sugar added to them.
There are sweet temptations everywhere and when they are eaten on top of all the added sugar that we are consuming, in foods that we wouldn’t even consider to be sweet, then the average person is consuming way over the limit of what is healthy.
The average intake of added sugar for British adults is 17 per cent of daily calories, which is over three times greater than the recommended intake.
Excessive sugar consumption is one factor promoting overweight and obesity, which is a risk factor for many diseases such as cardiovascular disease and cancers.
Smart points nudges our members to make smarter choices and still allows for a sweet treat, a takeaway or a night out.
We have a holistic approach to losing weight and promote the fact that it’s not always about the numbers on the scales but more about how a person is feeling, their health and their wellbeing.
