Summerfest lay on a Christmas cracker

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

There was a Christmas cracker in Halfway recently.

The Summerfest Committee had put on a festive party just before the big day took place.

And they even persuaded Santa Claus to take time off from his work at the North Pole to pop in and hand some presents to the kids.

The commitee’s Liz Jamieson said: “The Summerfest Committee work hard throughout the year to provide fun-filled activities for children and their families to enjoy.

“The Summerfest Christmas party was held in Halfway Bowling Club on Sunday, December 13, and all the children had a lovely day with a visit from Santa.

“We would like to thank Margaret Ferrier MP for helping us draw the raffle.

“We would also like to thank the staff and manager at Morrison’s store in Cambuslang for its support throughout the year.

“We would also like to thank Joe Nelson funeral directors for their donation and also Cambuslang Cooperative funeral parlour and Curlys the butcher in Halfway for their kind donations.”
