Keeping it personal
Nearly £23 million has been spent on personalised number plates sold by the DVLA in Britain in the past 12 months.
The figure is a record amount and shows there’s still a huge demand by people who want to make a mark with their registration number.
In the final DVLA auction of the year more than £5 million was spent with the Porscheoriented 911 RSR number plate being sold for £46,700.
Other registrations at the sale in included WH15 KEY which went for £43,500 and 1000 O, sold for £38,690.
And an unnamed businessman snapped up BR15 TOL for £20,168 at the sale which was the first auction by the DVLA to break the £5 million mark.
