Man , 33, scarred for life in flat at­tack

A man will be scarred for life af­ter be­ing bru­tally at­tacked by two thugs in a Ruther­glen flat.

The 33- year- old vic­tim suf­fered se­ri­ous fa­cial in­juries dur­ing the in­ci­dent, which hap­pened at around 7am on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 27.

Both at­tack­ers were bran­dish­ing weapons when they car­ried out the as­sault at a flat in Green­hills Road.

Po­lice are now ap­peal­ing for any in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent.

The sus­pects are de­scribed as in their early 20s with short hair, pos­si­bly shaved at the sides, and wear­ing dark cloth­ing.

De­tec­tive Con­sta­ble Grant Robert­son from Cam­bus­lang CID said: “This was a vi­o­lent as­sault and the vic­tim will be scarred for life as a re­sult.

“We know that the two men in­volved left the flat af­ter the at­tack and made off in an un­known di­rec­tion.

“I would ap­peal to any­one who may have seen th­ese two men act­ing sus­pi­ciously in the Green­hills Road area or sur­round­ing streets around the time of the in­ci­dent to get in touch.
