In­no­va­tive thinkers wanted

A lo­cal sup­port body for char­i­ties and com­mu­nity groups is ac­tively seek­ing ap­pli­ca­tions to join their board of trustees.

Vol­un­tary Ac­tion South La­nark­shire ( VASLan) is call­ing for those who have a pas­sion for sup­port­ing, de­vel­op­ing and rep­re­sent­ing the South La­nark­shire’s vol­un­tary sec­tor to be­come closely in­volved in the run­ning of the or­gan­i­sa­tion, which of­fers ad­vice and prac­ti­cal sup­port with fund­ing, vol­un­teer re­cruit­ment, in­come gen­er­a­tion, le­gal is­sues and more.

Ap p l i c a t i o n s are en­cour­aged from Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang res­i­dents from var­i­ous back­grounds, from those with close work­ing knowl­edge of the lo­cal vol­un­tary sec­tor, to those with­out pre­vi­ous ex­pe­ri­ence of com­mu­nity work but who have skills to of­fer and a de­sire to make a real dif­fer­ence.

Nancy Barr is pro­ject man­ager at a com­mu­nity grow­ing pro­ject in Larkhall and said: “We’re look­ing for peo­ple who have the abil­ity to think out­side the box. If you are an in­no­va­tive thinker with a pas­sion for im­prov­ing com­mu­ni­ties, and are ready to take on a chal­leng­ing role, then I would highly rec­om­mend get­ting in touch.”
