Alleged incident at Spittal PS

-

Police were called to a Rutherglen Primary School this month after a child allegedly lashed out at a teacher.

An anonymous parent of a child attending Spittal Primary told the Reformer he was alarmed to see a police presence at the school gates.

Des Dickson, head of education for Cambuslang, Rutherglen and East Kilbride, would not reveal the exact details of the incident, but said: “An incident took place at the end of the school day which required the intervention of staff with support from police. No other children were involved or at any risk at any time. The head teacher and staff responded quickly and professionally to calm the situation. Spittal Primary School through the work of the head teacher and staff has created a strong caring ethos for all of its pupils.”
