Groups given grants

Community groups in Rutherglen and Cambuslang still have a few weeks to apply for a share of this years community grant allocation.

Councillor­s on a local area committee approved £8,459 at a their last meeting of the financial year yesterday, Tuesday.

With £ 15,642 still in the pot, officers will now consider applicatio­ns before March 31. The latest awards were: Particp8 Overton, £650 for equipment.

Cambuslang Ulster Scots Society, £250 for equipment.

SCOPE, £ 1,000 for entrance fees, equipment and materials.

Park Vi ew Parent Partnershi­p, £ 600 for equipment and admin costs.

Enable, £ 1,000 for an outing, entrance fees and equipment.

1st Bankhead Guides, £350 for an outing, entrance fees and materials.

Clutha Discoverer­s, £250 for an outing and entrance.

Central Cambuslang Tenants’ and Residents, £600 for equipment and materials.

Rutherglen Guide Division Rangers, £350 for equipment and materials.

Cambuslang Hea r t and Stroke Club, £ 350 for specialist transport.

Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers, £150 for entrance fees.

Friends of Overtoun Park, £350 for equipment, admin and publicity.

Friends of Cambuslang Park, £1,000 for equipment.

Overtoun Community Growing Project, £ 250 for start up costs.
