Gran Jo is backing it
Josephine Taylor, from Nairn, is urging people to be aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and get checked if they have any concerns, following her diagnosis in August 2015.
The 73-year-old grandmother of two had noticed one of her nipples had become inverted and went straight to her GP but she never thought it could be a sign of breast cancer.
The GP checked Josephine’s breasts but could not find any lumps. She was sent for a mammogram where lumps were discovered that couldn’t be seen or felt.
Later in August, Josephine had surgery to remove the whole breast and lymph nodes. Luckily, the cancer had not spread to the nodes so she was given the all clear.
