A Lanarkshir­e comedy duo are set to welcome some top internatio­nal stand ups to East Kilbride.

Top comedians who will be performing at the Glasgow Internatio­nal Comedy Festival will be stopping off in East Kilbride as they take to the stage on March 18 at The Union.

After taking the show across Lanarkshir­e with gigs at Hamilton’s New Douglas Park football stadium and at the Uddingston Bowling Club.

On East Kilbride they have also appeared at the Ballerup Hall and the Salmon Leap, before finding a home at The Union where they host most of their events.

TV personalit­y and Scots Squad actor Darren Connell is on the bill alongside, Comedy Magician Chris Dinwoodie, and Kai Humphries will headline the evening, after previously working at a Stand Out comedy event in Newcastle. New Zealand comic Sully O’Sullivan will host the night. One of the organisers, Darren Thomson, is delighted to be able to bring the talented comedians to East Kilbride with the festivals going on nearby.

He said: “We have Sully O’Sullivan from New Zealand hosting the night. He has played some of the biggest clubs in England including the comedy store.

“He will be joined by well known on the Glasgow circuit, Comedy Magician Chris Dinwoodie, star of BBC’s Scot Squad Darren Connell who plays Bobby and our excellent headliner from Newcastle, Kai Humphries who has supported Daniel Sloss on tour.

“All four acts add something a little different.”
