Ruther­glen’s bid for Scot­tish film stu­dio fails

Last week the Re­former re­ported on how a for­mer in­dus­trial es­tate in Ruther­glen was sug­gested as a pos­si­ble home for the much an­tic­i­pated Scot­tish film stu­dio.

South La­nark­shire Coun­cil said it be­lieved the Clyde Gate­way Na­tional Busi­ness District in Shaw­field was per­fectly po­si­tioned to tap into the cre­ative in­dus­tries in Glas­gow.

With movies on our mind, the Ruther­glen Re­former took to Burn­side to ask lo­cals what their favourite film is.

Sur­pris­ingly, the renowned Scot­tish ac­tor, di­rec­tor and com­poser David Goodall was vis­it­ing the area on Wed­nes­day, March 9.
