Man, 37, de­nies driv­ing with­out li­cence

A Cam­bus­lang man has been charged with driv­ing a car with­out a test cer­tifi­cate.

Barry Mitchell, 37, is al­leged to have com­mit­ted the of­fence at New­ton Rail­way Sta­tion in Cam­bus­lang on Novem­ber 5, 2015.

Mitchell was fur­ther charged with fail­ing to pro­vide two spec­i­mens of breath for anal­y­sis at Cath­cart Po­lice of­fice.

The spec­i­mens were re­quired to as­cer­tain Mitchell’s abil­ity to drive or the pro­por­tion of al­co­hol in his breath at the time he was in charge of the ve­hi­cle.

The ac­cused ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Wed­nes­day, March 9 and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Trial was set for April 7.
