Res­i­dents as­so­ci­a­tion hand over £200 to LEAP

Ruther­glen Bankhead Ten­ants and Res­i­dents As­so­ci­a­tion have made a gen­er­ous do­na­tion to Light­burn El­derly As­so­ci­a­tion Pro­ject (LEAP).

The res­i­dents as­so­ci­a­tion made a do­na­tion of £200 from money col­lected at their an­nual party in De­cem­ber.

Ca­tri­ona MacGre­gor, adult learn­ing co-or­di­na­tor, ac­cepted the do­na­tion at the group’s most re­cent pub­lic meet­ing.

Carol Nis­bet, chair­per­son for the res­i­dent’s as­so­ci­a­tion, said:“Our mem­bers col­lec­tively agree to make a do­na­tion to a lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tion at the end of the year and on this oc­ca­sion we were de­lighted to be able to make a con­tri­bu­tion to LEAP.”

Stu­art McGre­gor, LEAP’s Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, said:“We are very grate­ful for the sup­port we re­ceive from the lo­cal com­mu­nity and it is ges­tures like th­ese that help LEAP to con­tinue to pro­vide sup­port to older peo­ple in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang.”

LEAP pro­vides as­sis­tance to peo­ple over 50 in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang via the Hands On Pro­ject and learn­ing and leisure classes.

HOP is a be­friend­ing and handyper­son ser­vice for over 50s while the classes help over 50s stay ac­tive.
