Residents association hand over £200 to LEAP
Rutherglen Bankhead Tenants and Residents Association have made a generous donation to Lightburn Elderly Association Project (LEAP).
The residents association made a donation of £200 from money collected at their annual party in December.
Catriona MacGregor, adult learning co-ordinator, accepted the donation at the group’s most recent public meeting.
Carol Nisbet, chairperson for the resident’s association, said:“Our members collectively agree to make a donation to a local organisation at the end of the year and on this occasion we were delighted to be able to make a contribution to LEAP.”
Stuart McGregor, LEAP’s Executive Director, said:“We are very grateful for the support we receive from the local community and it is gestures like these that help LEAP to continue to provide support to older people in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.”
LEAP provides assistance to people over 50 in Rutherglen and Cambuslang via the Hands On Project and learning and leisure classes.
HOP is a befriending and handyperson service for over 50s while the classes help over 50s stay active.
