Learning a life lesson
Nasreen Akhtar and daughter Nicola were driving close to Renfrew town centre when a young girl came out of nowhere and landed on Nasreen’s front bonnet.
The girl’s dad ran over to check on her and, thankfully, after a few minutes the girl sat up.
Police and ambulance were called by passers-by, and the girl was taken to hospital to be checked. She was released that day with bruising.
Nasreen was driving at 25mph, and her car had a huge dent in the front from the collision. She described it as a“terrifying experience”.
She was checked by police and all witnesses were able to verify she was driving at an appropriate speed and it was the young girl who ran out without looking. It has had an impact on her driving since.
