So simple

Michael McDonnell, director of Road Safety Scotland, was keen to get the message across to drivers.

He said:“Drivers are seven times as likely to kill a pedestrian if they hit them at 30mph than at 20mph, so it’s important to drive at an appropriate speed for the environment and the conditions, looking out for pedestrians at all times. Simple mistakes can have serious consequences.

“The message is simple: ‘In Town, Slow Down’.”
