A num­ber of joint ser­vices will be tak­ing place through­out Holy Week in Cam­bus­lang.

On Palm Sun­day and Easter Sun­day ser­vices will be held in in­di­vid­ual churches but then the fol­low­ing are joint ec­u­meni­cal ser­vices to which all are also wel­come.

Th­ese are: Mon­day (March 21) Sta­tions of the Cross at St Brides RC church, 7pm.

Tues­day Ser­vice at Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church of Scot­land, 7.30pm.

Wed­nes­day ser­vice at Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church of Scot­land, 7.30pm.

Maundy Thurs­day ser­vice with com­mu­nion at Cam­bus­lang Bap­tist church, 7.30pm.

Good Fri­day ser­vice at St Cuth­berts Epis­co­palian church from noon till 1pm.

Good Fri­day ser­vice at Cam­bus­lang Bap­tist church 7.30pm.

The charis­matic prayer group at St Colum­bkille’s are meet­ing ev­ery week.

Join them in the hall, room one, on Wed­nes­days from 7pm un­til 8.30pm and ev­ery­one is wel­come.

The craft group meets in the hall ev­ery Tues­day from 11am to 1pm.

The Di­vine Mercy Prayer Group meets in the White Fa­thers, 9 Mil­rig Road, Ruther­glen, ev­ery Thurs­day from 6.30-7.30 pm.

Ruther­glen West and Ward­lawhill Church’s weekly friend­ship cafe of­fers a warm wel­come.

The cafe runs ev­ery Tues­day from 10am-noon in West and Ward­lawhill Parish Church in Western Av­enue and ev­ery­one is wel­come along.

Glas­gow the Car­ing City have re­cently been over­whelmed with do­na­tions and des­per­ately need peo­ple to help out Mon­day to Fri­day be­tween 9.30am and 2pm.

Cam­bus­lang Parish Church’s com­mu­nity cafe is open ev­ery Wed­nes­day.

The or­gan­is­ers in­vite the lo­cal com­mu­nity to go along and en­joy a drink and a tasty snack in warm, com­fort­able sur­round­ings each week.

Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church con­tin­ues to wel­come the pub­lic to its com­mu­nity cafe each week from 12-2pm on Thurs­days.

The next sched­uled prayer break­fast at Croft­foot United Free Church will take place in the church’s small hall on Satur­day, April 9.

They will meet there at 8.30am for break­fast and a chat, then have a time of re­flec­tion and prayer.

A warm wel­come will be of­fered to ev­ery­one.

Stonelaw Parish Church in­vite the lo­cal com­mu­nity into the build­ing with the Café @ the Meet­ing Place be­ing open from Mon­day to Satur­day from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

A se­lec­tion of teas and cof­fees are avail­able along with home bak­ing and there is a sec­ond­hand book stall.

The church has also started to hold‘Dis­ci­ple­ship Ex­plored’on Thurs­days.

The ses­sions are in­tended to help Chris­tians work out what it means to fol­low Christ and they take place at 7.30pm in the Meet­ing Place.

And Stonelaw will also hold their fish sup­per ser­vice on Sun­day April 3 at 5.30pm.

They will have fish sup­pers etc. in the hall, fol­lowed by a short act of wor­ship.

This ser­vice is suit­able for all ages but sup­pers must be booked be­fore­hand.

To­ry­glen Parish Church now in­tend to hold car boot sales on the very last Satur­day of ev­ery month. Ta­bles are avail­able for £10.
