The 118th BB celebrated winning the Cathkin District Junior Section League for the first time in almost 20 years.

Since 2002 the title has been won by just two other BB companies but last week there was to be a new champion.

The boys include goalkeeper Ivan Jariod, defenders Jamie Ross and Jude Bamford, midfielders Ewan Field, Harrison Cairns and Charlie Hurn and striker and captain Roshaun Singh.

The 118th BB is based in King’s Park Church and play league games every Saturday morning at the Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre.

They won the league on goal difference and by just two goals that were scored in the last few minutes of the final match.

The 118th officer in charge, Stuart McKay said: “The league winning team has used just eight players, none of whom have missed a single match.

“They play great football and they play with a tremendous attitude and sense of fair play. Our second team also won third place medals in the cup. I couldn’t be prouder.

“It’s a fantastic achievement for everyone involved. The boys have trained well and shown commitment and passion every week.”

Most of the boys will now move on from the junior section after the summer and the 118th will need to build a new team.
