Wee Cambus return to win

Rutherglen Reformer - - The Back Page -

With the season back underway after the winter break the Cambuslang Rugby Juniors (pictured) travelled to Ayrshire for games against Carrick and Kilmarnock.

The fielded four teams across the P1-P7 age groups.

The P3s were having their first game since the winter break and showed no signs of rustiness. There were excellent tries from Magnus Boan and Ciaran Cahill. The boys showed tremendous effort and the games were played in a good spirit.

There was a great team performance from the P4/P5 boys who convincingly beat a strong Kilmarnock team and a spirited Carrick side. On the occasion of Jamie Kennedy’s birthday, who was captain for the day, there was much to celebrate for Cambuslang.

The P6/7 team lost narrowly against Kilmarnock and drew with Carrick. Overall it was a really positive team performance. Strong, determined running from Kerr McLaughlin put the team on the front foot. Finn McGill showed some great link play and was strong in the tackle. Daniel Senior made some great off loads and was always available to support his team mates. Rory Wallace made some excellent line breaks and showed great awareness to find his team mates.
