Jennifer to be Landemer Queen
The Landemer committee have unveiled this year’s court.
Twelve-year-old Cathkin High pupil Jennifer McLaughlin will have the honour of being this year’s Queen, taking over from Stonelaw’s Katie Whiteside.
Jennifer’s ladies in waiting will include her schoolmates Evie Brightey and Lauren Thomson, both 12.
Also in the Queen’s court will be Katie Herraghty and Eilidh Currie, both 12, from Trinity; Kirsty Falconer, 13, and JamieDrew McBride, 12, from Rutherglen High; and Louise Graham and Eva Johnston, who will represent Stonelaw.
This year’s event will take place in Main Street on Saturday, June 11.
Organisers are expecting another great day, with a host of activities, stalls and entertainment on offer.
Landemer committee secretary Ian Duncan said:“With Burnhill Sports Centre closing, we have a slight problem with where we are going to store the stage.
“It may be we need to put it in an industrial unit until we find a suitable place.
“Other than that, the organisation is going fine. We already have a number of stalls and we’ve already put our application in for a licence. All the usual suspects want to be involved and many of the acts we had on last year will be returning.”
