A Ruther­glen man pleaded guilty to be­ing in pos­ses­sion of co­caine when he ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court last week.

Gavin For­rest, of 327 Kings­bridge Drive, and Laura Lee McCluskey, of Ber­tram Street, Shaw­lands, were in court on Mon­day, March 14 to face five charges be­tween them.

The pair ad­mit­ted be­ing in pos­ses­sion of co­caine on Fe­bru­ary 3, 2015, at St Ge­orge’s Road, Glas­gow, and McCluskey, 26, pleaded guilty to hold­ing class B drug cannabis on the same date.

For­rest, 34, also pleaded guilty to driv­ing a car with­out in­surance on St Ge­orge’s Road on Fe­bru­ary 3.

Both de­nied pro­vid­ing police of­fi­cers with false names in the same in­ci­dent in a bid to evade pros­e­cu­tion, which was ac­cepted by the Crown Of­fice.

At the court hear­ing For­rest was fined £520 and had seven penalty points im­posed on his driv­ing li­cence.

Co-ac­cused McCluskey was fined £360.

A teenager has been charged with shout­ing racial abuse at police of­fi­cers.

The 19 year old was ar­rested shortly af­ter mid­night on Fri­day, March 25, when he al­legedly be­haved in an abu­sive man­ner to­wards police of­fi­cers on Bridge Street, Cam­bus­lang.

He was de­tained and held in police cus­tody pend­ing a court hear­ing the fol­low­ing morn­ing, Satur­day, March 26.
