Fernhill kids give egg-stra

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Pupils at Fernhill School collected 176 Easter eggs to donate to children less fortunate than themselves.

Some of the eggs were collected by a representative from the Rutherglen and Cambuslang Foodbank while others were taken to a foodbank in Airdrie, where many of the pupils from Fernhill live.

Mrs Stevenson, who coordinated the activity, said: “Originally we had a target of 140 eggs, which we felt was adventurous given the relatively small number of pupils at Fernhill School. However, the pupils have once again shown tremendous generosity and have exceeded our expectation once again.

“Our school continually looks for ways in which to extend kindness and charity within our local community and it never ceases to amaze me how well pupils respond each and every time they are asked.”
