Jail for man who offered police a bribe
A Rutherglen man who pleaded guilty to offering police officers money in exchange for his release from custody has been jailed.
Peter Cassidy, of Greenhill Court, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on February 23, 2016, when he shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence and remarks of a homophobic nature to officers.
The 33 year old also admitted hindering and assaulting three police officers when they attended an incident at another property in Greenhill Court. He struggled violently with them, kicked them on the body and attempted to kick one PC on the head.
He pleaded guilty to the four charges when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on March 15.
He was sentenced to eight months imprisonment backdated to February 24, 2016.
