Laura is new cop keep­ing town safe

A new com­mu­nity cop has taken on the role of keep­ing the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang com­mu­ni­ties safe.

Con­sta­ble Laura Tay­lor is the new safer com­mu­ni­ties of­fi­cer for Ruther­glen, Cam­bus­lang and East Kil­bride.

PC Tay­lor be­gan her police ser­vice at Ruther­glen in June 2010 as part of the com­mu­nity polic­ing team where she spent three years be­fore mov­ing to re­sponse polic­ing in East Kil­bride in May 2013.

She quickly grasped the ba­sic polic­ing qual­i­ties and moved to the op­er­a­tional sup­port depart­ment at East Kil­bride, pro­vid­ing sup­port to the lo­cal di­vi­sional man­age­ment team.

In Au­gust 2015, PC Tay­lor re­turned to re­sponse polic­ing in East Kil­bride be­fore join­ing the safer com­mu­ni­ties team.

She said: “I’m look­ing for­ward to work­ing closely with the part­ner agen­cies PC Greg Rober­ton ( her pre­de­ces­sor) has been work­ing with and build­ing new re­la­tion­ships within the com­mu­nity. I will con­tinue to fo­cus on re­duc­ing crime and disor­der and work with the lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties.”
