Rutherglen Reformer - - News - Douglas Dickie

It has been all change at Cathkin Post Office over the past month.

Customers are now able to access more services than before while the branch remains open until 8pm from Monday-Saturday.

After undergoing an extensive refurbishment, the branch, which is in the Co-op store in Braemer Road, has been upgraded from a sub post office to a main post office.

At a celebration to mark the reopening, local woman Cathy Sartin, 82, cut the ribbon, watched by representatives from Post Office and Co-op.

And she was delighted to receive a bouquet of flowers from branch manager Amanda Knox.

Amanda said: “We are doing a lot more things here now, such as driving licences, and we’re selling more currency too.

“We’re also open from 8am to 8pm, six days a week.

“We’ve been getting good feedback from customers. Everything is new so we’re just trying to get customers to understand that we’ve extended the hours.”
