An­nual sports awards cer­e­mony recog­nises dis­trict’s cham­pi­ons

The Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Sports Awards held their 17th an­nual prize cer­e­mony to cel­e­brate the sport­ing achieve­ments of 2015.

More than 150 peo­ple packed out Ruther­glen Town Hall to recog­nise some of the area’s best sports­men, women and teams on Thurs­day, March 24.

The evening was hosted by for­mer Trin­ity High pupil Dorothea McInnes and sixth year Trin­ity stu­dent Me­gan Docherty in what was a spe­cial night to recog­nise sports­peo­ple in 13 dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories.

Chair­woman of the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang Sports Coun­cil and Asda To­ry­glen Cham­pion Liz Ar­buckle took to the stage to re­flect on events that hap­pened through­out 2015 as the guests were treated to a pho­to­graph pre­sen­ta­tion show­ing pic­tures of some of the nom­i­nees .
