Con­nor earns hon­ours at sports awards

Trin­ity High pupil Con­nor McCole was among the list of win­ners at the Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Sports Awards.

Sports­men and women cel­e­brated their suc­cess in a sparkling night at Ruther­glen Town Hall on March 24.

Sixth-year pupil Con­nor was pre­sented with the Brian Logue award for his achieve­ments.

Con­nor has de­fied the odds to es­tab­lish him­self as a sports­man of the highest cal­i­bre.

He ex­celled in two dif­fer­ent sports, in­clud­ing Boc­cia, and rep­re­sented Team Scot­land in the Un­der-19 Na­tional Cham­pi­onships where he won a sil­ver medal to en­sure he is well placed for the Great Bri­tain Par­a­lympic squad in 2020.

Con­nor also per­formed well while play­ing for Clyde Alba in the Na­tional Pow­er­chair Football League.

The award that is named in hon­our of for­mer Re­former pho­tog­ra­pher Brian Logue who sadly passed away in 2013.

Brian’s son Christo­pher was on hand to present Con­nor with his prize.
