Cathkin High girls rep­re­sent Scot­land

Two Cathkin High pupils rep­re­sented Scot­land at a ma­jor gym­nas­tic tour­na­ment in Por­tu­gal.

Emma Waugh and Me­gan Gem­mell trav­elled to Maia in Por­tu­gal with their team, East Kil­bride Gym­nas­tics Club.

They rep­re­sented their coun­try in the Maia In­ter­na­tional Acro Cup.

Both girls took part in floor rou­tines as Emma com­peted as a duo and Me­gan was part of a trio.

Emma fin­ished sev­enth over­all and Me­gan took joint fifth place.

The S2 girls were thrilled with their rou­tines.

Emma said: “I was re­ally proud to rep­re­sent Scot­land in Por­tu­gal and would love to get a chance to do it all over again.”

Next on the cards for the flex­i­ble duo was the Ac­ro­batic Celtic Cup, where teams from all across Scot­land and Ire­land com­peted.
