Lib Dems: tide is turning against SNP

Rutherglen Reformer - - Election Special -

The Liberal Democrats hit the campaign trail at the weekend with a mass leafletting and door knock.

They were out in Fernhill and Springhall, as well as the Gallowflat area trying to drum up support.

Candidate Robert Brown said: “People are beginning to look critically at the SNP’s performance.

“Liberal Democrats have been campaigning steadily for months but, in recent weeks, we have noticed a difference. Quite a few people who voted in the referendum for independence are telling us they have changed their mind.

“And quite a few people who voted SNP have told us they won’t do so again because they don’t think the SNP have performed well as a government.

“People just don’t understand why the SNP made such a fuss about having more powers for the Scottish Parliament but now seem wholly reluctant to use the new powers.”
