Cathkin pupils take a trip back in time
Life in medieval times was the latest lesson for S1 pupils from Cathkin who participated in a trip to Stirling Castle.
The pupils, who have been exploring “the Normans In Scotland”topic in history, enjoyed a very interactive and enjoyable trip organised by the history department.
The sun was shining and pupils were able to take in the beauty and features of the castle that had formed some aspects of classroom learning.
Pupils also got an opportunity to dress up in clothing from the time and learnt about the weaponry from the time in an educational lesson delivered by Stirling Castle.
S1 pupil Jay Williamson said:“While we wandered through the castle, we met some interesting characters. They told us all about life in the castle and answered all of our curious questions.
“They told us the meanings of the tapestries on the wall and facts like maids, servants and stable boys weren’t paid.
“Personally, I think we all enjoyed our trip back in history!”
