Top award for legal firm
A law firm that has represented the people of South Lanarkshire and aast Glasgow for a generation has been recognised for its service to clients.
Scullion Law - which employs several people from Rutherglen - won the excellence in client care award at the recent Scottish Legal Awards ceremony in Edinburgh.
The fifth time the law firm has been recognised by the national awards scheme, Scullion Law was celebrated for the putting clients at the centre of everything they do.
Based in Hamilton, the firm was established in 1979 by Nicholas James Scullion, who later passed the business on to his son and a team of lawyer. They renamed the business Scullion & Co and opened a branch in the east end.
Explaining the company beat stiff competition from large companies such as Digby Brown, CMS and McQueen Legal to win, Nicholas Scullion Jnr said the award recognised the hard work of his 40-strong team of staff.
He said:“We would like to thank our loyal clients for providing us with glowing testimonials and reviewing us on Facebook. All feedback we receive is appreciated as it helps us to continuously improve our service.
“Twelve judges drawn from law and business reviewed many entries this year, with the new category for excellence in client care proving to be one of the most popular, so we are thrilled. Thank you to our extended Scullion Law family which includes our staff and clients. This award is dedicated to all of you.”
Scullion Law has picked up four other Scottish legal awards in the past six years including criminal lawyer of the year in 2010, paralegal of the year in 2010 and 2012 and specialist lawyer of the year in 2015.
It was also named a finalist in last year’s community contribution award.
