They’ve developed a system similar to the Dewey Decimal System in order to organise and keep track of all the books available.

Hallside teacher Michelle McMenemy said: “They have designed the library so that it is a fun and comfortable place for Hallside pupils to come and enjoy reading.

“In the library we now have a listening hub where the children can choose to listen to a number of different audio books.

“There is also access to online books in the library using our new smart tablets, and the children can also take books home using our home lending library.

“All of the pupils have been involved in whole- school competitions to design a library card, mascot and name the new library, which has been called The Chapter Room.

“When they opened the library they delivered a presentation to all pupils, staff, and friends of Hallside.

“They are confident individuals who have successfully contributed to both the development of the school and the development of pupil learning and these are children who are now celebrating their success.”
