Queen’s Park’s league two title challenge suffered another blow after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Stirling Albion.

Paul Woods saw his first half penalty saved but the Spiders netted after 43 minutes when Chris Duggan capitalised on a Ross Forsyth mistake to net.

Jamie McKernon and Vinnie Berry went close for the hosts, before Steven Doris levelled with a side-foot finish from 14 yards after 63 minutes.

The result leaves Queen’s a point off the play-off position and eight behind league leaders East Fife.

Spiders boss Gus MacPherson said:“We probably had to win if we’re to compete for the title.

“We have four games left, with three away from home, and that might suit us. We’ve drawn too many but it’s difficult to break teams down when they come here and sit in.

“We know it’s going to be tough, it’s been tough all season, especially at home.

“It’s been disappointing and frustrating not to break teams down and not capitalise on a lot of our good play.”

Queen’s Park will visit Ochilview Park this weekend to take on league two strugglers East Stirling.
