Project 31 en­joy a spring fling

Ac­tions sta­tions at Over­toun Park event

More than 30 chil­dren sprung into ac­tion as they took to Over­toun Park to cel­e­brate the school hol­i­days.

The young­sters were at­tend­ing Project 31’ s Ac­tion Sta­tions event, which saw lo­cal fam­i­lies handed out a se­ries of fun tasks to com­plete in 60 min­utes.

With the sun shin­ing, 34 chil­dren were chal­lenged to draw their favourite tree in the park, com­plete a scav­enger hunt, take part in races, try hula hoop­ing, com­plete the wooden as­sault course at the play park and more.

A huge suc­cess, Ac­tion Sta­tions was one of sev­eral events or­gan­ised as part of Project 31’s Spring Fling school hol­i­day ac­tiv­ity pro­gramme.

A char­i­ta­ble group that aims to pro­vide high qual­ity play and recre­ational ac­tiv­i­ties in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang, Project 31’s Spring Fling in­cluded Pop Up and Play events, for­est school ses­sions, arts and crafts, games and muddy


Race There were run­ning, hop­ping, skip­ping and jump­ing races


Hula Chil­dren had fun with hula hoops on Fri­day


Bub­bles Every­one loves blow­ing bub­bles


Bug life Chil­dren were given na­ture books and kits to iden­tify bugs


Team work A scav­enger hunt was one of the chal­lenges laid down by Project 31


Games Young­sters took part in old favourites such as hop­scotch
