A teenager who allegedly threw a police officer to the footwell of a van has had the case adjourned.

Laurence McConville, of 6 Drumreoch Drive, Toryglen, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 5, with his co-accused Steven Kerr, of 83 Old Dalmarnock Road, Bridgeton.

At the hearing McConville denied assaulting a police constable by repeatedly seizing hold of him, pushing him, throwing him to the footwell of a motor vehicle and repeatedly attempting to strike him on the body.

The 18 year old, together with Kerr, 24, is also charged with committing a breach of the peace by shouting and swearing on Rutherglen Main Street, on August 2, 2015, and of obstructing and struggling violently with two police officers.

Both men deny all charges against them and will return to court on September 20, 2016.
