Man de­nies as­sault and cru­elty to a dog

A Castlemilk man has been charged with throw­ing a dog to the ground and as­sault­ing another man and a preg­nant woman.

An­thony Ren­nard ,21, was charged with strik­ing the woman on her body and also re­peat­edly punch­ing and kick­ing another male on the head and body at Castlemilk Drive, Glas­gow, on Fe­bru­ary 11, 2014.

Ren­nard, of Tor­musk Road, Castlemilk, is claimed to have pur­sued the man and re­peat­edly punched, kicked and stamped on his body.

The male is also claimed to have seized a dog and thrown it to the ground and be­haved in an abu­sive or threat­en­ing man­ner by shout­ing and swear­ing.

All of­fences are al­leged to have been com­mit­ted while he was on bail.

This week at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court Ren­nard pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Ren­nard also faces the charge of fail­ing to ap­pear at a court diet on May 27, 2015. Trial will con­tinue on April 29.
