We’re far better than England

-

The SNP have invested record amounts – including £8.6m in tackling fuel poverty in South Lanarkshire through home energy efficiency.

The share of Scottish homes rated EPC band C and above increased by 71 per cent since 2010 and 11 per cent in the last year.

Scotland now has proportionately 53 per cent more homes with a good EPC rating than England.

The Scottish Government’s budget includes over £103m to address energy efficiency and deal with fuel poverty next year. This will help install energy efficiency measures in 14,000 homes, building on 900,000 efficiency measures delivered since 2008.

We will also help families who often face higher heating costs by extending winter fuel payments to include families with severely disabled children.

There is still more to do and, if re-elected , an SNP Government will continue our work to tackle fuel poverty, towards our aim that everyone in Scotland lives in a warm, affordable to heat home.
