Take a walk with the Senior Strollers

-

A new walking group for elderly people is hoping to attract new members.

The Senior Strollers are for over 60s and meet on Tuesday mornings for a walk around Overtoun Park.

The group is run by Friends of Overtoun Park volunteers and is part of Paths For All – a national charity which manages the Walking for Health programme in Scotland.

Walk leader, Lesley Robb said: “Walking gives you all the key health benefits leading to healthier heart, s t ronger bones, and increased flexibility.

“Exercise has a great effect on your condition. It helps circulation, sending fresh oxygen to your brain more quickly.

“Walking is a safe activity. Especially for those who have not been active for some time. You can make new friends and feel part of your local community.”

All abilities are catered for and the group walk from 10.30-11.30am.
