Police assault charge denied
A Halfway man has been charged with assaulting a police officer, uttering homophobic remarks and punching the wing mirror of a car.
Christopher Thomson, 28, is accused of damaging the car on Hamilton Road, Cambuslang, on November 7, 2015 and of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner while on route to East Kilbride police office. He is also accused of obstructing and hindering two police officers in execution of their duty while at the station and further of assaulting one PC by repeatedly attempting to butt him with his head and kick him on the body.
Thomson, of Hamilton Road, denied all charges when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, April 13 and will return for an intermediate trial diet on May 4.
