Bowls back at Burnside

The bowling season is back in full swing but members at Burnside Bowling Club had to battle the conditions on their opening day of play.

At one stage the green was white with sleet but glimmers of sunshine found it’s way through before President David Robertson invited his wife Pamela to join him on the green together with vice president, Kenny Stirratt and club secretary Walter Mathews.

David thanked all who had helped in getting the clubhouse and greens ready for the 2016 season.

He also thanked all guests and members for attending the first day of play in the new year.

Pamela then threw the silver jack followed by the first bowls and the season had kicked off.
