Mental health: LibDem priority

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

One in four people suffer from anxiety, depression or other mental health problems in their lives – a major issue for many local people I have talked to recently.

Long waiting lists make things worse, not least for the growing number of young people affected.

Liberal Democrats will raise the priority of mental health, invest in more therapists and make sure every GP practice has a qualified mental health professional.

This will improve the quality of life of many people – and relieve pressure on GPs and Emergency Departments by dealing more effectively with many patients.

We will fight to retain local GP out-of-hours services at the Victoria – still threatened by the SNP review of out of hours care.

Liberal Democrats will tackle the GP crisis which is making it more difficult for people to get appointments, recruit and train more GPs and nurses – making our NHS fit for the future again.
