Community councillors in Cambuslang have called for a meeting with police chiefs weeks after it was revealed their town produces a high number of young criminals.
The Reformer revealed last month that Cambuslang’s G72 postcode came second in a league table of areas that produce the most young offenders.
Covering Cambuslang and Blantyre, the G72 postcode saw 90 people aged 16 to 21 jailed at Polmont Young Offenders Institute between 2012 and 2015.
The figures were described as “shocking” by Michelle Farmer of Cambuslang Community Council.
