Residents, together with Scouts, Guides, youth groups, schools and mother and toddler groups, are being invited to visit the studio and pick up some essential skills.

Kenneth Thom, director of Create Bathroom and Kitchen Studio, said: “We have a very experienced team here at Create and we want to share our knowledge on basic DIY skills.

“We think it is really valuable to know how to unblock a tap, how to stop frozen pipes, how to isolate electrics in an emergency, how to wire a plug or how to find out where the stopcock is for the water to your kitchen sink. It seems silly to say but many people don’t know this information and we are happy to educate.”
