Croftfoot Church hosts Prayer Shield

Rutherglen Reformer - - News From The Pews -

Local parishoners from churches across Rutherglen and Cambuslang banded together last week when the prayer shield was hosted at Croftfoot Parish Church.

The As One Prayer Shield is part of a national call to prayer promoted by Pray for Scotland, and Parliamentary Prayer Scotland.

Croftfoot was chosen as the South Lanarkshire church that would host the shield.

It’s aim is to encourage the Church to stand together ‘as one’ and to raise a shield of prayer for their areas throughout 2016.

As part of the shield’s tour throughout Scotland, a prayer of blessing was said by one area over the next, with the aim of creating a ‘river of blessing’ throughout Scotland.

On the night there were prayers focused on the needy in Scotland and on leaders of integrity to lead the nation. Afterwards the shield went into Glasgow city centre to the Street Pastors Base.

Pictured are Christians from local churches of all denominations who want to unite as one in Christ.
