Eastfield Star cruised to a 6-0 win over Glasgow Rovers to gain the bragging rights in a one-sided derby.

They started brightly and took the lead through a great free kick that was swung deep into the box by Steven Coulter. Shaun Finan rose well to beat the ‘keeper but not the post and Eastfield’s top scorer Karl Duncan was on hand to stroke it home from two yards.

The game continued and Eastfield pressed on but were rarely tested except from Rovers’ long throws into the penalty area. William Gibson was on hand for the Star who dealt with them with relative ease.

Eastfield grabbed a second through Duncan once more and Scott Hendry added the third before half-time.

Mark McHugh finished well into the top corner before Duncan bagged his hat-trick in the second half.

Eastfield’s newest recruit James Gaitens struck a lovely volley from 15 yards into the corner to complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, in the other matches around the Sunday AFL, two goals each from Fleming and Skivington helped Rutherglen Rovers to a 7-0 hammering of Rosehill Thorns.

Hannah, MacDonald and Gallagher completed the rout to move the Rovers into third spot - three points behind the leaders.

In the other results in Division 2C, Burnside United drew 1-1 with South Lanarkshire Ravens and Cambuslang Football Academy lost 3-1 to Eastend Rovers.

Castlemilk Dynamo continued their unbeaten run at the top of the Premier with a 3-3 draw with Northend.

McGill, Cameron, Campbell and Rusk were on target for Fernhill United in a 3 - 3 draw at home to AFC Polonia.

Castlemilk United advanced to the semi final of the Health Rewards Cup after winning 6-5 on penalties following their 1-1 draw with Brunswick.
