Rutherglen Reformer - - St. Andrew's Hospice 80th Anniversary -

Elaine Smith praises the work of the Hospice of which she is an ambassador and is backing the Capital Fund Appeal.

The Scottish Labour candidate said: “St Andrew’s Hospice is one of the most recognised and cherished institutions in Lanarkshire.

“For 30 years many families, including my own, have had experience of dealing with the Hospice and the specialist care it provides for loved ones.

“I am proud to be an Ambassador for the Hospice, and, in September 2015, I lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament highlighting the ‘Capital Appeal Scheme’ which aims to raise £9 million for modifications to the facilities.

“I will continue to support the Hospice for the outstanding, caring and exceptional assistance it provides to many families across Lanarkshire.

“I also commend all of those who run events and collect funds for St Andrew’s Hospice to allow the day to day functioning of this excellent facility to continue.”
