The Conservative candidate for Rutherglen and Cambuslang says his recent electioneering efforts in Burnside found “a lot” of nontraditional party supporters.
Taylor Muir says he believes a large number of those he spoke to will vote for the Tories in the constituency and on the list. His electioneering coincided with gathering support for the party’s petition calling on Nicola Sturgeon to keep her promise that the referendum was a once in a generation decision.
He said: “With Lib Dems free to back independence in a future vote and Kezia Dugdale making clear she would ‘conceivably’ back separation, more and more people who voted No are turning to Ruth Davidson for leadership.
“Voters want a strong opposition who will keep Nicola Sturgeon to her word and support our place in the UK. That’s the message we will be tirelessly taking to the doorsteps across Rutherglen and Cambuslang in the final
